Djuret (The Animal in Swedish) is a nose-to-tail restaurant in the city center of Stockholm, Sweden. It is owned and operated by The Collectors hotel, owners of numerous hotels and restaurants in The Old Town of Stockholm.
Interior design concept strengthening the bold concept of only serving one animal at the time “nose to tail” style. Jovial atmosphere where a hunting lodge crosses with a good-natured butcher´s museum and a 40´s potluck kitchen. As a back pocket restaurant to ecological fine-dining restaurang Leijontornet, the interior concept of Djuret is also procurement and regard for existing materials and second-hand items. An ecological design point-of-view. With remake design details such as old meat mincers and hunting trophies remade to lighting fixtures. A large assemblage of old pig heating lamps lighting up the space. Cosy old fabrics, antique rugs and antique folk art furniture gives further tactility. Graphics from old cooking books depicting butchering schemes. Oil paintings of still life meat gives a classic look with a contemporary touch.
